The transformation Jesus wrought in the heart of Brother Paul equipped him with many virtues and skills to impact many lives around him. From his family to the Church, AFSS to Crawford University, Brother Paul left indelible marks on the lives of many people. He invested a lot of resources in the future of Nigerian youth, especially the ones in the Gospel. The loving man of God touched many lives through his visionary leadership skills. On every platform at his disposal, Brother Paul lived the life he preached – he talked the talk and walked the walk.
Testimonies abound of his immense contributions to the development of the Nigerian youth through the platforms of AFSS and Crawford University. One such testimony was given by then Vice-Chancellor, Professor M.T. Ige, during a special convocation held in honour of the pioneer Chancellor, Brother Paul. Professor Ige described Brother Paul as “a man who had consuming passion for education, bold, resolute and full of faith.” Indeed, Brother Paul was bold and full of faith. This characteristic was evident in his absolute trust in God when He asked him to take His people to Igbesa. His total obedience to that divine instruction has continued to be a major source of spiritual blessings to thousands of people. Apart from the provision of a more conducive venue for the annual camp meeting of The Apostolic Faith, that obedience has continued to yield many benefits. That obedience led to the establishment of Crawford University.
Professor Peter Okebukola, Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Crawford University Council described Brother Paul as “a strategist who in the pursuit of his mission [and indeed the mission of the first Africa Overseer, Reverend Timothy Gbadebo Oshokoya] of winning Africa for Christ adopted the missionary methodology of opening schools.” According to Professor Peter Okebukanla, Brother Paul “wanted God-fearing staff and students who have prayed through to their three Christian experiences [of salvation, sanctification and the Baptism of the Holy Ghost and fire] and students who are unique in their quality of training and who are change agents for the society.”
Furthermore, the Pro-Chancellor explained that Brother Paul's love for the Gospel drove him to pray fervently to God that Crawford University should become a robust instrument of evangelism of The Apostolic Faith Mission. Professor Peter further enumerated what God helped Brother Paul (and indeed the Church) to achieve in Crawford University. According to the Pro-Chancellor, Brother Paul:
✔ witnessed the successful accreditation of all the programmes of the university by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2008;
✔ witnessed the graduation of the first set of students of the university;
✔ received encouraging feedback from the National Youth Service 27
Corps (NYSC) and some employers of labour, indicating that Crawford University products are a special breed of well-trained and God-fearing graduates;
✔ witnessed the salvation of the souls of many Crawford students and their progression to receive the experiences of sanctification and the Baptism of the Holy Spirit; and
✔ witnessed divine healing of many of the staff and students of the university.
