In founding this church, it purposed to re-establish, maintain and uphold those doctrines taught and practiced by the early church, and embraced by the leading old-time fundamental denominations. Its doctrinal foundation stones are those which have stood the test of the ages, vital truths expounded by men of God through the centuries, and for which many worthies of old sacrificed their lives in martyrdom.
Though this church avoids ceremonialism and formalism, it likewise has no tolerance for fanaticism and wildfire. Its direct object and aim is Evangelism: the spreading of the Gospel in all its purity, power, and fullness, adding nothing to the Truth of God’s Word and taking nothing from it.
Believing that “all scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness,” this church teaches and embraces all the fundamental doctrines found in God’s Word—from Genesis to Revelation.
It draws a clear distinction between nominal Christianity, the mere mental acceptance of the Gospel of Christ, and that of the possession of the Spirit and Power of God. Special emphasis is placed upon the need of obtaining the three definite experiences provided in God’s Word: the New Birth, salvation from sin; entire sanctification, the second, definite work of grace which eradicates the carnal, unholy nature; the Baptism of the Holy Ghost, the enduement of power from on High for service.
