1. The Lord of love came down to earth
And was a baby born
And angels sang with heav'nly mirth
On that fair Christmas morn
Sing "Glory, glory, glory to God
In the highest.

2. 'Twas but a lowly manger bed
Where infant Jesus lay,
No other place to lay His head
Had God's dear Son that day.

3. They were only Shepherds poorly clad,
Who came to greet the Boy
When Him they saw, their hearts were glad,
And leapt with love and joy.

4. Let us, in love, with them unite,
And with the angels sing,
The birthday of the world's Delight,
Our glorious Saviour King.
