When God Saves

When sinners come to our altars, we tell them to pray till they know they are saved. They get a real witness from Heaven, and their very countenance changes. We do not say, “Now you are saved.” But Oh, how the faithful altar workers wait with almost bated breath to hear them say, “I am saved----I have received it --– I know my sins are forgiven!”

Oh, how we love to see the power of God come down into a soul, and see that soul open just like a rose opening its petals to the sun! The close bud, you cannot tell what color it will be till the sun kisses it. And you cannot tell what talent is in a soul that God may use, until the power of God kisses that soul. When once the power of God touches the heart, He can open up things which we would never dream were there.
