DELUSIONS OF THE LAST DAYS

DELUSIONS OF THE LAST DAYS

SATAN appears as an angel of light. Infidelity comes to us under a cloak, and is called Modernism, Theosophy, Spiritualism, Christian Science, Evolution. False doctrine is deceiving people by the millions, and plunging souls into a lost eternity, because someone failed to warn them that Jesus Christ, through the shedding of His Blood, is the only Remedy for sin. God is in need of a multitude of fearless warriors who will not shun to declare the whole counsels of God.

The Bible declares: “Preach the word.” The WORD! Not higher criticism, not false theology! Take the WORD! Hold it to your breast as the most precious treasure. Live by it, and die by it.

Modernism

The insidious Modernist propaganda has swept over the world, and its poison has entered into almost the whole professed church. It is antagonistic to the Bible and to Christ, denying the divinity of Christ and the inspiration of the Scriptures. They are saying that the world has outgrown, in many ways, the Bible. Jesus said, “When the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?” (Luke 18:8).

Evolution

The Darwinian theory of evolution has entered into the schools and colleges and many churches. It sets aside the Bible account of creation, saying that all things came about by a process of evolution, and that man reaches his highest state by natural development. The fall of man is rejected, also atonement for sin and the need of a Savior. They call the miracles of the Bible myths, legends, and allegories, and deny the virgin birth of Christ. They call their theory the “twentieth-century religion.”

Universal Brotherhood

The new religion teaches the universal fatherhood of God and brotherhood of man, which Jesus never taught. Jesus said to the Pharisees, “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do.”

While we are all brothers in the natural, and of one blood all nations are made, yet the only brotherhood, or true fellowship of the true child of God, rests with the truly regenerated people of God. And no man has a right to look up into the face of God and call Him “Abba, Father” until he has been born again.

Jehovah’s Witnesses

This group teaches that there is another chance after death. They deny everlasting punishment for the wicked, and teach annihilation. They declare that the wicked will be resurrected and have another chance to accept salvation on earth; then, at the end of the Millennium, the wicked and the devil and fallen angels will be burned up and annihilated. This false doctrine does away with the truth of God’s Word, and is deceiving thousands.

There is no annihilation of the soul taught between the lids of the Bible. The soul is immortal and will exist forever. Jesus said, “These shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal” (Matthew 25:46).

The dangerous and deceptive teachings of the Jehovah’s Witnesses (also called “Millennial Darwnism,” “Zion’s Watch Tower” and “International Bible Students Association”) have caused many a soul to go on in his sins and hope for salvation after death. Jesus warned: “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew 7:15).

Christian Science

Paul exhorted Timothy to avoid “profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called” (I Timothy 6:20). No true science conflicts with God’s revealed truth; but this so-called Christian Science today denies Christ, sin, the need of a Savior, the power of the shed Blood of Jesus Christ. It is ensnaring the hearts of men, leading them into darkness.

“Without shedding of blood is no remission” (Hebrews 9:22). God’s Word says, “Every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist” (I John 4:3). Christian Science denies the material Body and Blood of Jesus. It denies His resurrection. It is the spirit of the Antichrist.

We see the false teachers on every hand, calling themselves practitioners, theosophists, spirit mediums, hypnotists, magnetic healers. The power they have is the power of the devil. No Christian will consult them. If you have any of their books, it is your duty, according to the Word of God, to burn them (Acts 19:19).

The “Jesus Only” or “Jesus’ Name” Delusion

Another false teaching prevalent today is the “Jesus Only” or “Jesus’ Name” delusion. Those who hold this teaching deny two of the most fundamental doctrines of the Bible: (1) the Holy Trinity and (2) the eternal existence of the Son of God.

The Apostle Paul wrote: “We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ” (Colossians 1:3). And it is stated that when Jesus was baptized, “Lo, the heavens were opened unto him, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove, and lighting upon him: and lo a voice from heaven, saying, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:16, 17).

The night before Jesus was betrayed in the Garden, He prayed to His Heavenly Father saying, “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was” (John 17:5).

Jesus told the disciples: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” (Matthew 28:19). He did not say that they should baptize in His name only.

The use of this form, “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost,” may be traced back to the early ages of the Christian church. Its use emphatically declares the real import of Christian baptism, which is not performed according to the Scriptures unless the Trinity is acknowledged.

(We have a tract dealing fully with this teaching, which will be sent to anyone requesting it.)

“Eternal Security” – A Popular Delusion

“Eternal Security” is the new title recently adopted for a false teaching variously known as “Perseverance of the Saints,” the “Preservation of the saved,” “Once in Grace, Always in Grace.”

This doctrine which allows a loophole for sin without destroying the covenant relations with God fits perfectly into the theological scheme of those who have lowered the standard of holiness in order to accommodate it to the carnal minds of our modern religionist. For this reason “Eternal Security” is rapidly becoming a popular doctrine in the growing apostasy of these last days. And it is time to expose the falsity of this thing before it becomes a stumbling block to those who are honestly seeking the truth.

Spiritualism

Spiritualism teaches the return of the dead and communion with departed spirits. It is unscriptural, devilish. What could be worse than this awful deception – demons feigning to be the spirits of the dead, deluding the people?

The communing with familiar spirits is strictly forbidden in the Word of God. It is called witchcraft; and the Bible declares that “all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD” (Deuteronomy 18:12). By means of this deception of Satan, thousands are duped into the belief that they may reject Christ and the Bible and yet be assured of bliss and peace after death.

Seventh-Day Adventism

This teaching denies the Biblical doctrine of the Atoning Sacrifice of Christ as the only means of man’s salvation. It declares that the Lord Jesus Christ inherited a sinful, fallen nature.

It declared Satan to be the joint sin-bearer, and the vicarious agent of the sinner.

Mormonism

One of the “prophets” of the Mormon group stated their belief as follows: “Adam is God, the Supreme God, the Creator of this world, our God, and the only God with whom we have to do.” And further: “God was once a man like us; yea, that God the Father of us all dwelt on an earth the same as Jesus Christ himself did.”

Unity, New Thought, and Theosophy are other false systems.

If you are leaning in any wise to any of these false doctrines of the last days, we exhort you, in the name of Christ, to flee from them as you would from a serpent in your bosom, for they will damn your soul.
