How sweet it is this holy day
A day most beautiful
To set aside all earthly care
And lift our thoughts to heaven.

How sweet it is to have the joy
That comes through pard'ning grace!
To say with boldness, as a son
?Father who art in heaven?.

To hear the words that brings sweet peace
Sent through Thy servant's mouth
A broken heart that weeps for sin,
And sees the gates of heav'n.

And if you come to Jesus Christ
To wash your sins away
The one who knows and sees the heart
Will send abundant grace.

Welcome, thou holy day, welcome,
A day most beautiful
Assembled here are we to pay
