Jesus our Lord on this Thy day
Hear us and be with us today;
Assembled here are we to pray
And to take heed to all thy word

Pleasant to us the rest below
But sweeter far and rest above
Our yearning hearts long for that day
To reach a sinless world above

No strife, no war and no alarm,
No anxious cares as in the world
That shall be mixed with all our song
That from immortal lips proceed

Begin O long expected day
Thy blessed morn we now await
We yearn to rise above earth's woe
To reach the promised rest above
