Verse 1
Let all Zion's watchmen arise
And answer their own calls
Let them, their own commission take
Themselves from the Lord's mouth.

Verse 2
It's a very great work indeed
For which we need watchmen
It's a burden on angel's heart
And it fills the Lord's hands.

Verse 3
They watch over one soul, for whom
The Lord left His glory
A soul who will have to be in
Eternal joy or loss.

Verse 4
So, they also may see Jesus
As their Lord and Saviour
In watching their footsteps daily
Their hearts are kept for Him.
