This book is a compilation of marriage seminars given by the past leaders of Apostolic Faith work in Africa. Though given by three different leaders at different times, the source of each of them is the Bible. The truths discussed in the seminars have remained constant even after their authors have gone to their reward.
There is no better time to study and apply these Biblical truths. As you will discover in this book, one of the things that stand out in these seminars is this: not every Christian will get married and that those who will get married successfully must do so according to the Word of God with much prayer and consecration. After one has been saved, sanctified and baptized with the Holy Ghost and fire, one still needs to consecrate the more to know the mind of God concerning marriage. One needs to approach God with this question in mind: Is it Your will or plan for me to get married?
If that question receives a yes from God, one can then proceed to pray concerning the spouse God has prepared for them. If the answer is no, then the matter should end there. God's plan for us is the best. After all, we are not in the Gospel because of marriage. We are in the Gospel because we want to go to Heaven; we want to be in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. Marriage is not a qualification for Heaven, but it can send one to hell if it is not done the right way.
God is interested in every aspect of a Christian's life. From the day one is saved, God wants to walk and work with us every step of the way till we reach Heaven. God wants to take total control of our life. When one is saved, sanctified and baptized with the Holy Ghost and fire, one is qualified to be called the bride of Christ. Jesus, the bridegroom of the Christian, is coming any moment to take His bride to the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. But before this wonderful event, God wants us to remain spotless, blameless and without wrinkles.
Here on earth, there is an institution that typifies our marriage to Jesus. That institution is called marriage. God ordained this institution to serve two main purposes-companionship and procreation. God knew that it would not be good for Adam to be alone,so He gave him Eve.
Another important point that runs through the three seminars is that marriage should be approached prayerfully. Our leaders, through the leading of the Holy Spirit, explained the Biblical procedure or steps to take after one has received the all-clear from God to marry. There is peace in doing the will of God. When one marries the spouse prepared for him or her by God, one will enjoy peace in the marriage.
But we are not left with the impression that those who follow the Biblical procedure cannot experience challenges in their marriage. The solution to every challenge is the Word of God and prayer. A Christian husband or wife is always confident to go back to God and ask for His help when faced with challenges. If indeed God has given you your spouse, you can approach the same God to help you. But if one follows the idol of his heart and marries by sight, then God will automatically remove His hands from such union.
It is our prayer that every Heaven bound Christian will follow the procedure laid down in this book. Why? They will profit by it. God cares about every aspect of a Christian's life and He wants the foundation of everything to be holy.
