Brother Paul had his primary education at Pilgrim Baptist Primary School,  Issele-Uku, Delta State, Nigeria, between 1948 and 1956. His brilliant  performance earned him a place at Pilgrim Baptist Teacher's Training  College, also at Issele-Uku, where he distinguished himself and graduated  in 1966. He always had the urge to become an educationist. He did the  General Certificate of Education Examination (GCE), Advanced Level,  and undertook diploma programmes.

Brother Paul's quest for further education made him apply for admission to  some universities in the United States of America. He was offered  admission by virtually all of them and thus proceeded to Lagos in 1971,  with a view to processing his travel documents. However, God changed  the plan to travel abroad because He had a different plan for his life.
