REPORT ON THE VISIT OF THE DISTRICT SUPERINTENDENT OF THE APOSTOLIC FAITH CHURCH, WEST AND CENTRAL AFRICA, BRO. ISAAC ADIGUN AND SIS.

STELLA ADIGUN TO JOS AREA – 6TH – 12TH JUNE, 2025

 

Introduction

The Jos Area of the Apostolic Faith Church was privileged to host the District Superintendent (DS) of West and Central Africa, Bro. Isaac Adigun, and his wife, Sis. Stella Adigun, from  Friday 6th to 12th of June, 2025. This momentous visit to the congregation epitomized the global unity and spiritual kinship of the Apostolic Faith family. The visit was marked with spiritual blessings, strategic meetings, inspections, and fellowship with brethren in Jos Area.

Day 1 - Arrival and Revival Service (Friday, 6th - June, 2025)

Bro. Isaac Adigun and Sis. Stella Adigun arrived at the Yakubu Gowon Airport, Jos, at about 8:40 am. They were warmly received by Bro. Christopher Okechukwu Odoh and his Wife, Sis. Nneka Okechukwu Odoh, with some Ministers and other members of the Apostolic Faith Church, Jos Area. From the airport, Bro. Isaac and Sis. Stella were conveyed to Crispan Hotel, Jos for lodging and rest.

Later in the evening of same day, a welcome programme was held at the Apostolic Faith Church, Jos Area Headquarters, where they were joyfully received by brethren. The reception included the presentation of bouquet of flowers, a cheerful parade by excited National Youth Corps’ Members, enthusiastic participation by the pupils of Apostolic Faith Primary School (AFPS), and other joyous church members. Then Bro. Isaac delivered greetings from WECA.

Headquarters, encouraged the brethren and gave a charged which ignited revival spirit in the congregation. Many members remained on their knees in earnest prayer until they were visibly blessed.

On the second day, Bro. Isaac and Sis. Stella attended a combined Sunday School Conference with Sunday School teachers at 11:00 am. This was followed by a general workers' meeting, where Bro. Isaac addressed all available workers in the Jos Area, offering valuable encouragement to maintain the standard and practices of the gospel and as well providing directives for future growth and spiritual effectiveness.

After the meetings, a time of fellowship and birthday celebration for Sis. Stella was held. It was a joyful and memorable moment for all in attendance. During the birthday session, Sis. Stella responded by saying “with every sense of nostalgia, I am happy to celebrate this year’s birthday in Jos. “For many years I have looked forward to be in Jos, to me Jos is historical and specifically the opportunity to see the brethren in Jos and visit to my Alma-mater; St. Louis College after 50 years of graduating from secondary school. I thank God for making it possible this time. Thank you brethren for celebrating the goodness of God upon my life. God bless you all”.

In the mood of fellowship as anchored by Bro. Christopher, brethren were treated to cheerful singing and sumptuous lunch.

Day 3 - Combined Sunday Service (Sunday, 8th June 2025)

The Sunday services began with Sunday School and featured the Elementary Department presenting a short welcome playlet showcasing how God had preserved the lives of brethren in Jos Area despite the religious crises in past years. God has been faithful to His promises and members of the congregation were encouraged with the coming of the District Superintendent of WECA District. The Sunday School lesson titled; Esau Sells His Birthright to Jacob, was delivered in different language classes, English, Hausa, Igbo and Yoruba. The adult English class was facilitated by Bro. Olorunfemi Zacchaeus, Pastor of Gyawana branch Church, in Adamawa and a brief review to harp on lessons learnt by Bro. Christopher Odoh. This led the congregation to their knees.

The Devotional Service commenced by 10:45am with choir prelude beginning with a Violin Solo by Brother Godwin Alomaja, then the Choir sang “Tis Marvellous and Wonderful”, the congregation sang heartily as Brother Isaac directed the congregational songs. Sister Jane Uko, Pastor of Mubi Church gave the congregational prayer and Brother Christopher Odoh announced the presence of the Adiguns in the service. The first special was titled, Sing.

 

Hallelujah, presented by Male Choir members, and was followed by the scripture reading taken from Leviticus 9:22 – 24.This was read by Brother Ikechukwu Ogbodo, a Minister from Rukuba branch Church. The last special was a solo titled “God is so wonderful”, sung by Sister Essien. Brother Isaac took his sermon’s opening text from Leviticus 9:6. He started by delivering greetings from Saints in WECA headquarters and proceeded to with a short sermon titled, “Preparation to meet God”. Using his experience in preparation and determination to meet the then UK Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Blair, at 10 Downing Street, London, when invited for a function and how he eventually met him and shook his hands. Brother Isaac encouraged the congregation to make the necessary preparations, be focused and determined to meet God at every opportunity. He ended his sermon with the call to meet God, being the ultimate person who will not only shake our hands but also embrace us with His arms of love when we open our hearts to him. The invitation to the altar was given and many hurried to the altar to meet God.

A General Congregational Meeting was held in the afternoon which was focused on Strengthening the Family Bonds. Bro. Isaac highlighted the progress of ongoing Faith City Tabernacle project, and used the opportunity to encourage the brethren that God is capable to handle all the uncompleted projects in Jos Area. He emphasized on Bible doctrines as preached and practiced by Apostolic Faith Church, reminding the members what the church is known for as well as our values and culture. He later had a closer heart-to-heart talk with the

 

youth exclusively to tell them God has beautiful plans for them narrating his personal testimony and encouraged more of youth meetings to foster the togetherness of the young people in Jos Area.

The day closed with group photographs of Brother Isaac and Sister Stella with the Pastors, Ministers, the general congregation and the Youth.

With the activities above, it was reflection that in a divided world, this gathering stood as a beacon of the Church’s transcendent unity, proving that "though scattered, we are one family" and in a world plagued by division, our church transcends borders, languages, and cultures. We are united in salvation, holy living, and faithfulness to the end.”

Day 4 - Field Visits and Inspections (Monday, 9th - June, 2025)

The fourth day of the visit was dedicated to visiting branch churches in Jos metropolis and site inspection. The first point of call was at a member’s private school, Noble College, Bukuru, where members temporarily hold their services due to insecurity situation in the previous location where the Church had a property. The team arrived at about 11:30am and Brother Johnson Iyaoromi, the Pastor of Bukuru branch Church, his wife and some members were on ground to receive the team. The team visited the new Church site, part of which was donated by same member and the Church bought additional plot for building a befitting place of worship. Prayers were offered on the property and Brother Isaac encouraged the brethren to quickly commence procurement of building materials and molding of blocks.

Thereafter, the team proceeded to the old church property which had been sold.

The next point of call was at the Rukuba branch church, located in Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State. Brother Patrick Okafor, his wife and children and some of the brethren received the delegation at about 1:30 pm. An inspection of the sanctuary and adjoining building housing the prayer room as well as children church was conducted. Brother Isaac made some observations for improvement in facilities and prayed with the members in the sanctuary before the team departed.

Day 5 – Visit to Heritage sites and Strategic Meetings (Tuesday, 10th - June 2025)

On the fifth day, Bro. Isaac and Sis. Stella, along with a few members, including Bro. Chris, (The Area Overseer), visited St. Louis College - Sis. Stella Adigun's alma mater, where she had her secondary education. The next destination was the University of Jos, followed by a tour of the Jos Historical Museum.

Later in the day, Bro. Isaac returned to the Area Headquarters for a series of meetings with key church leaders. These sessions focused on strengthening church structure, unity, and evangelistic outreach.

Day 6 - Flight Delay and Rescheduling (Wednesday, 11th June 2025)

Bro. Isaac and Sis. Stella were initially scheduled to depart Jos for Lagos at 10:00 am. However, due to multiple flight re-scheduling, their return trip was rescheduled for the following morning.

Departure (Thursday, 12th June 2025)

On the morning of the 12th of June, 2025, Bro. Isaac Adigun and Sis. Stella Adigun successfully departed Jos and arrived safely in Lagos.

On a final note, the visit of the District Superintendent Bro. Isaac and Sis. Stella to the Jos Area was a highly impactful and memorable event. It was marked by spiritual revival, strategic engagement, historical reflection, and joyful fellowship. The entire church community was deeply blessed and inspired by their presence, and we pray for continued strength, wisdom, and grace upon their ministry.
