LIBERTY IN CHRIST IS THE THEME AND REALITY AT NIGERIA INDEPENDENCE RALLY
The Apostolic Faith 2025 Independence Day Rally was held on October 1, with the theme: “Liberty in Christ.” Workers assembled in the Church by 9:00 a.m. for the prayer room service, while the participants - students and non-students - registered as they arrived in large numbers.
The rally took place across all branches in Nigeria with testimonies of victory and blessings showered upon all participants.
At the Anthony headquarters, the program began with an organ prelude, followed by an orchestra rendition of “He Touched Me,” and a choir rendition of “He Set Me Free.” The congregation then stood for the national anthem and pledge, after which a congregational hymn was taken. Sis. Doris Chibundu led the opening prayer. Bro. John Adegboye welcomed the attendees, introduced the order of service, and read from 1 John 3:8, emphasizing that Jesus came to destroy the works of the devil. He prayed that everyone present would experience a life-changing encounter with Christ.
The participants were grouped by age for the Bible study titled, “Liberty in Christ.” The lesson traced humanity’s journey from a sweet relationship with God to the bondage of sin through Adam and Eve’s disobedience. It emphasized the urgent need for reconciliation with Christ, the freedom available in Him, and the importance of steadfastness to avoid returning to a life of sin.
Upon returning to the auditorium, the congregation was welcomed with a quartet rendition of “He Is Able to Deliver Thee,” followed by uplifting choruses. Bro. Bayo Osunkoya conducted the lesson review, during which students answered questions on liberty and bondage, the supremacy of God, captivity under the devil, spiritual freedom, and the benefits of the Blood of Jesus. The review ended with hymn 245 and a closing prayer by Bro. Femi Fakuade, after which an intensive prayer session was held.
The afternoon session opened with a solo titled “I’m Free.” Bro. Gamaliel Adun then introduced the movie “Destiny for Sale,” encouraging attendees to watch attentively with high expectations. The program concluded at 1:25 p.m. with a prayer session and announcements.
To facilitate smooth service, multiple food distribution points were arranged. After receiving their meals, students proceeded to their respective vehicles for departure. To the glory of God, the logistics were hitch-free as we got the cheerful news that all the participants returned home safely.
Despite an early morning rainfall that seemed likely to affect turnout, God granted a remarkable attendance, with a peak of 1,929 participants recorded. The Lord blessed the rally with the following spiritual results: 25 souls reported saved, five sanctified, 12 filled with the Holy Ghost and fire, 2 re-anointed, 3 healed and 11 other blessings.
Other Areas across the country recorded large turnout, ranging between 1,500 and 5,000 with many souls saved, sanctified, filled with the Holy Spirit, Re-Anointed, Healed and many other blessings.
We give God all the glory for the success of the 2025 Independence Day Rally and the blessings received.
