The Inevitable in Marriage
No doubt there is joy, good health and prosperity in marriage and of course the obvious too sorrow, sickness and adversity. There is no marriage anywhere in the whole wide world which is free of sorrow, sickness, and adversity, but the severity to which each marriage is subjected varies from individual to individual, hence everybody must be fully prepared to have his own share of marriage adversity. It maybe sickness for the wife or the husband; it may be poverty for both of them; it may be childlessness or it may be the premature death of either of the marriage parties.
Since there is not a single one of us who knows what God has apportioned for him in marriage, we should be extra careful not to go into this delicate issue thoughtlessly, unadvisedly and presumptuously. Exodus 18:18:“...for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone.”
Exodus 18:19: “Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee:Be thou for the people to God-ward that thou mayest bring the causes unto God.”
Exodus 18:20: “And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.”
This is just what I have done.
