Marriage is sacred.

Marriage is sacred. All Christians know that fact. Those who enter it anyhow or desecrate it cannot enjoy marriage. Why do we say that marriage is sacred? It was instituted by God Himself and God made it honourable to whoever enters into it lawfully.

“Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the LORD”(Proverbs 18:22).

“House and riches are the inheritance of fathers: and a prudent wife is from the LORD”(Proverbs 19:14).

It is a wonderful gift from God to have a good wife. Any man who has a good wife will attest it is a wonderful thing. It is not just that he married a good wife; it is because he did the right thing. At the very beginning, God Himself decided to give Adam a wife because He knew that Adam needed a wife. God instituted the ordinance of marriage.

Because the man is the head, he is to take the initiative. The man prays to God to give him a wife, the bone of his bones and flesh of his flesh. That is not to say that a woman will not pray. A woman will have to pray but the man makes the move. Sometimes some women pray and God shows them the man even before the man makes the move. Keep your calm. As long as you prayed and God told you that is the man, he is coming. Possess your soul in patience. If you the man refuse to pray and carelessly marry another woman, you are going to suffer it.

“It is better to dwell in a corner of the housetop, than with a brawling woman in a wide house”(Proverbs 25:24).

“It is better to dwell in the wilderness, than with a contentious and an angry woman”(Proverbs 21:19).

You have heard the warning from the wise son of David who spoke from experience. Although he was very wise, in this matter of marriage he was very careless. A man who married 300 wives must have got sufficient experience to warn people.

All those who have been in marriage who followed this counsel will tell you their marriage is blissful and they are thanking God for it. If your marriage has developed hiccups, search your heart!

Marriage is sacred. It signifies the mystical union between Christ and the Church. If it is so, how can any man dare to despise marriage? Or enter into it outside the will of God? It must be entered into with holiness. When it is entered into, the husband and wife must maintain a clean and holy life. If you do anything unseemly, you are saying your marriage does not typify the union between Christ and the Church. Then you are not of God; you are of the devil.

“Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge”  (Hebrews 13:4).
