Types of marriage approved by the Church:

Marriage by native law and custom otherwise called, “Gage and Go!” Registry Marriage, Church Marriage-prayer room or full marriage. For the intending couple, we exhort: “Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart”(Psalm 37:4).“In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths”(Proverbs 3:6).

Engagement: This is sacred. We do not have to go into anything that is idolatrous. We should also not do anything that is worldly. We should do it in such a way that God's holiness is glorified. You have an opening song, an opening prayer, there is an introduction, exchange of letters, presentation of gifts including an engagement Bible. At this point, you may read the Scripture. Then the parents may pray for the couple. This should be followed with a closing song and prayer. What we are saying is that, it should be short and precise. We should be conscious of moderation in all that we do.
