In another Gospel-wagon meeting, a young man came pushing his way through the crowd, fell upon his knees on the cobblestones, and cried out: “God be merciful to me a sinner.” In a moment he was saved, and jumped upon the Gospel wagon giving testimony of the transformation which had taken place in his life.

That evening, at church, he again boldly testified saying: "A miracle took place in my life today. I was on my way to a gin-mill, but about four o'clock I was gloriously saved while kneeling down in the dust on a street corner. Praise God for the dust and for the people who got me on my knees. I had been in the corner saloon where I heard the sound of a band of 'mission boys' telling the Gospel story. When I came out of that saloon, presently I was down on my knees calling on God to help me; and, praise God, He did not wait a minute. He saved my soul instantly." Through the years this convert continued to give his testimony in the church, on the street, or wherever he found one to whom he could witness.
