As Mother prepared to leave the comforts and provisions of home life, she prayed that God would provide the means and the way for her to go out into greater fields of service. God answered her prayer; and in the latter part of 1906 she started her journey toward Portland, Oregon, stopping in Salem, Oregon, where some meetings were being held under the supervision of a man who had attended the Los Angeles revival and received the fullness of the Spirit of God. While she preached in Salem, a number of holiness people from outlying districts attended the services. God brought them into this Gospel work and some of them later became leaders and strong spiritual workers in the Apostolic Faith.
A minister and some holiness people from Portland also came to the Salem revival. They, too, sought the deeper things of God and aided in the establishment of the Apostolic Faith in Portland.
