We wish we had space to mention the hundreds of helpers in the many departments of the work who have put the Gospel first in their lives. Tribute could be paid to one and all.
Greatly appreciated are the guards and watchmen on duty, day and night, to serve and protect the campers. Volunteer firemen stand by in case of emergency. Then there are the mechanics, machinists, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, sheet metal men, roofers, stonemasons, painters, janitors, and assisting cleaners. At the cafeteria and lunch counter are the cooks and waitresses who serve hundreds of people during the day.
One of the busiest persons on the campgrounds is the cabin supervisor who assists the minister in charge of placing the visitors in their proper location and cabin: She and her assistant walk many miles in one day – to and fro across the grounds – ministering to the needs of the campers.
The year-round caretaker, who replaced an elderly faithful attendant, is now an elderly man too, and has served in his capacity for many years, answering the telephone, opening and closing gates, locking and unlocking the buildings, and other tasks too numerous to mention. He occupies the little cottage near the side entrance of the grounds where he is easily accessible.
