Ofttimes we have heard Mother tell of her experience in receiving sanctification. She has said: "In my home that following week, after attending the mission, I earnestly sought God In prayer and searched out the truths of God's Word. I consecrated and dedicated my life anew, again and again, to God. The next Friday when I returned to the services, the preacher stopped his preaching and said, 'Somebody in this place wants something from God.' I pushed the chairs away in front of me, and fell upon my knees at the altar of prayer. The ‘fire’ fell, and God sanctified me. Oh, it was wonderful! Question it? I never can! Depart from it? Never! It is the very choicest treasure of one's life.”
The day when Mother received her sanctification stands out especially clear in my mind. I was only a boy but I remember that when she came home her face was glowing with joy as she told us what had taken place in her heart. It seemed that all she could say was: "God sanctified me! He sanctified me!" From that time on, the doctrine of sanctification was the very bulwark and strength of her Christian profession.
