It was fortunate that among those converted through the years were many tradesmen: contractors, engineers, bricklayers, carpenters, iron and concrete workers, electricians, plumbers, sheet metal and furnace workers – “every willing skillful man, for any manner of service.”

Within two months the project was well on its way. The plot had been cleared of the old buildings, the basement excavated, framework and forms in, and foundation laid.

Some of the men helping on this project worked all day; others came after their day’s labor elsewhere and worked in the evening. One of the members, retired businessman from the Middle West, engineered the plans and supervised the work. All the help worked in unison, and with a prayer in their hearts for a successful completion of the new headquarters.
