The women of the church also contributed their part to the work. One Christian worker, who was with Mother from the very beginning of the Apostolic Faith in Portland, made daily trips with her old Ford car, picking up food which had been cooked by the members and brought to a shop on the east side. From there she and another worker brought it on to the consideration site; and in one of the old frame buildings on the rear of the lot, the women prepared and served food to as many as 75 or 80 workmen at one meal.
